Turf & lawn installation
Premium turf, properly installed. Sir Walter, Empire Zoysia, TifTuf and Palmetto laid on real soil prep — not a thin layer of sand over compacted clay.
Most turf jobs on the Gold Coast fail in the first 18 months for the same reason: the prep wasn't done. Builders' rubble buried 50mm down. Soil pH off. No subsurface drainage on a flat block. The turf goes in green and dies brown, and the homeowner blames the lawn.
We do turf differently. Every Lux turf installation starts with a soil test, a level survey, and a written prep plan. We rip out compacted layers, amend with imported sandy loam where the native soil is too clay-heavy, set drainage falls, and roll a proper turf base before a single roll comes off the truck.
The variety also matters. Sir Walter is the default for shaded suburban backyards, but Empire Zoysia outperforms it on sunny coastal blocks and in high-traffic family yards. TifTuf is the best-in-class for water efficiency in drought-prone areas. We'll tell you which variety actually fits your site, not which one we have on hand.

We walk the block, identify sun exposure, check drainage, and recommend the right turf variety. Soil sample taken if pH or nutrient profile looks off.

Site prep
Existing lawn, weeds and rubble removed. Compacted layers ripped. Imported sandy loam topped where native soil is too clay-heavy. Drainage falls set if needed.
02Site prep - 03Step 03
Levels + screed
Lawn screed to within 10mm across the whole area. Edges sharpened against paths, beds and driveways. Pre-laying fertiliser worked in.

Lay + roll
Fresh turf delivered the morning of install — never more than 18 hours off the farm. Laid in staggered courses, butt-jointed, rolled, and watered immediately.

Aftercare handover
Written 12-week care plan: watering schedule, first mow timing, fertiliser timing, weed protocol. We schedule the first mow with you and include it.
